NBA Scores 2018: Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid 2020 and 7 other things from Thursday night - SB Nation

If you aren't afraid of the 76ers now, you will be soon because Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons are becoming one of the NBA's most unstoppable combinations. They compliment each other well despite Simmons' lack of a jump shot. Embiid can space the floor and score inside while Simmons is impossible to keep out of the paint.

They flexed every skill they had against the Bulls on Thursday night. The two combined for 62 points, 16 assists, 20 rebounds, five blocks and four steals in a close win where the Sixers needed every bit of that production.

These two aren't even close to their peak yet, and they're running it up like that against other professional basketball players. And you never know which one is going to create for which.

Most times, its Simmons finding Embiid on the fly.

But then other times it could be Embiid creating for Simmons waiting on the inside.

You never know exactly what you're going to get between these two — you just know it's going to be good. And that's why they're going to dominate the NBA for years to come.

The Wizards start off their tough schedule with a win

The Wizards absolutely had to win on Thursday night against the Cavaliers. It's rare you see regular season must-win games, but this was that for the Wizards.

The Wizards were a game and a half behind the Cavaliers in the standings heading into Thursday night with the Pacers a half game behind them in the sixth seed. They had five games coming up in seven nights versus all but one playoff team.

They started off slow, but they showed up in the end with big showings from Kelly Oubre Jr. and Tomas Satoransky, who combined for 34 points. It's just a start, but it's a much needed win against a tough team. Now, they'll see the Hornets on Friday night.

Warriors vs. Clippers had back to back buzzer beaters

This game was more exciting than it should've been. First, we saw a bit of Stephen Curry's magic at his best.

And then, the very next quarter, Danilo Gallinari hit one for the Clippers.

The NBA — where amazing happens.

Speaking of Steph

He looks just fine coming out of the All-Star break. He dropped 44 points, eight assists, six rebounds, and seven made 3-pointers against the Clippers. Oh, and he only took 19 shots.

The game was much closer than it should've been, but it didn't matter. Curry was the best player on the floor and controlled the tempo from the very beginning. He was vintage Steph, hitting us with crazy floaters one minute.

Then deep threes the next.

He's just impossible to guard. It's really unfair.
