While the Oakland Raiders did not sign a huge name in free agency this offseason, they did bring in players that can really help them next season. Guys like Rashaan Melvin, Tahir Whitehead, and Jordy Nelson were all nice additions, as new head coach looks to put his stamp on the 2018 Raiders.

Heading into the free agency period, there were tons of holes all over this roster, and not much salary cap space to take care of them. General manager Reggie McKenzie did a great job bringing in players for cheap, adding real talent to both sides of the ball.

One big reason for the addition of solid players was their interest in playing for Gruden. The new head coach has an incredible love for the game of football, and players just love playing for him.

In bringing in Nelson, the team did have to part ways with Michael Crabtree, who was a fan favorite. Still, this team is already more deep than last year's, and the team did it without having to break the bank.

As we head to April, the team still has areas of need, which they can address with their 11 draft picks. The Raiders pick No. 10 overall in the first round, and thanks to trades between teams above them in the draft, they should get an elite defensive player in the first round.
