MLS players on international duty: the good news and bad news - Soccer America
MLS clubs welcomed back 53 players who played for national teams during the March FIFA window.

The good news: six players scored, including the LA Galaxy's Ola Kamara, who had a hat trick in Norway's 4-1 win over World Cup-bound Australia, and San Jose's Vako, who scored in both of Georgia's wins.

The bad news: Three players were injured, two in training.

New York City FC midfielder Alex Ring is expected to miss four weeks with a knee injury suffered in training while with Finland. New York Red Bulls defender Fidel Escobar will be out 2-3 weeks after suffering a thigh injury ahead of Panama's match at Switzerland, and LAFC's Omar Gaber suffered a knee injury in Egypt's 1-0 loss to Greece.

Ring has been the linchpin of the NYCFC midfield since arriving last season. Young Norwegian Ebenezer Ofori stepped in for Ring for the 2-2 tie at New England and should keep his spot Saturday at San Jose.

Escobar started two of the Red Bulls' first three games as they rotated their lineup between Concacaf Champions League games.

Gaber dressed for LAFC's opener at Seattle but wasn't on the 18-player game-day squad for its second game at Real Salt Lake.
