Congratulations are in order for former Penn State star Saquon Barkley.
The All-American running back and projected Top 5 pick will be a first-time father next month, girlfriend Anna Congdon revealed Saturday on Instagram:
Barkley says he will attend next month's NFL Draft in Dallas.
"My mom told me I have to be a little bit selfish here," Barkley said Wednesday. "Being able to receive a jersey, and that jersey having your name on it, and being called on that stage is something you dream about as a little kid. I had to be a little selfish there."
After mesmerizing scouts at the NFL Combine, there was buzz about Barkley possibly going No. 1 overall to the Cleveland Browns. That has simmered a bit, but the franchise is reportedly "keeping options open" with the first pick.
