MLS: Top 5 Goals of Week 7 – Portland, Montreal and more - MLS Multiplex

MLS, NEW YORK, NEW YORK – April 11: Ismael Tajouri-Shradi

The seventh MLS match-week began with a midweek matchup between New York City FC and Real Salt Lake where the boys in blue had their way. Four goals got past Mike Petke's men, helping New York City FC remain at the top of the Eastern Conference table.

Friday evening also hosted a pair 2-0 matches, Orlando earned three points in Philadelphia while LAFC did the same in Vancouver.

The Rapids opened up Saturday play at home, putting two past a weak Toronto side. Three games finished with a 1-0 scoreline, DC beating the Crew, Dallas topping New England and the Galaxy getting past Chicago.

A five goal battle between Portland and Minnesota gave the Timbers their first victory of the season while the weekend finished with three 2-2 draws. The Earthquakes and Dynamo split points in California, the Sounders earned their first point in Kansas City and finally Atlanta settled for a draw in a heated battle vs NYCFC.

5. Jack Price's Rocket

After joining the Rapids in January, midfielder Jack Price opened his MLS account Saturday afternoon against the 2017 MLS Cup champions.

The opportunity spawned from when a cross sent in by Kip Colvey was partially cleared by Toronto defender Drew Moor. The 34 year-old's attempted clearance wasn't the best, only making it to just outside the eighteen.

Luckily for Colorado, Jack Price was there to gather the ball. The Englishman needed to make an outstretched touch to get the ball in front of him, which lead to one more prior to a shot.

Before anyone from Toronto was able to close Price down, the 25 year-old got a shot off Clint Irwin's way. Price's first MLS goal was placed too perfectly for Irwin to get a touch, firing into the bottom left corner of the goal, helping the Rapids win their second goal of the game.
