Before you enter a daily fantasy basketball tournament for the NBA Playoff games on Friday, April 27, you need to hear what professional DFS player Mike McClure has to say. McClure has more than $1 million in career DFS winnings and rolled through the NBA season, cashing huge on numerous tournament and cash game rosters.
He was able to do all that thanks to some spot-on picks.
On Thursday, McClure built his single-game FanDuel tournament roster around Bucks forward Giannis Antetokoumpo at $11,300. The result: Antetokounmpo exploded for 31 points, 14 rebounds and four assists -- returning just under 60 DFS points as he helped the Bucks force a Game 7 against Boston. Anyone who rostered him was well on their way to a profitable NBA DFS night.
For Friday's three-game slate of Cavaliers-Pacers, Wizards-Raptors and Jazz-Thunder, McClure is all over Washington center Marcin Gortat as a value play at $4,700 on both sites.
Gortat is coming off his best game of the postseason on Wednesday when he recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds against the Raptors. He finished with just 30 DFS points for that game, well over his season average.
Expect those type of numbers again on Friday evening as the Wizards try to stave off elimination in Game 6.
McClure is also all over Jazz guard Ricky Rubio at $7,600 on FanDuel and $7,400 on DraftKings.
Rubio has feasted on a shaky Oklahoma City defense in this series as it returns to Utah for Game 6 on Friday night. He's gone over 40 DFS points in three games in this series, and even pushed for 60 in one of them.
He's been able to do that because he stuffs the stat sheet in several categories, returning double-figures in scoring, rebounding and assists at various points in the series. He also has multiple-steal upside in any given game, so there are plenty of ways for him to pay off in a huge way on DFS.
McClure is also targeting a player capable of putting up massive numbers who has a dream matchup on Friday. The stars are aligning for him to score 50, even 60 points on FanDuel. This pick could be the difference between winning your tournaments and cash games or going home with nothing.
