The list of players invited to the 2018 NBA Draft Combine have been released and there are a number of SEC players who will get to showcase their talents in Chicago. The list was first released by Shams Charania of Yahoo.
Lottery picks such as Collin Sexton and Michael Porter Jr. made the cut as did the likes of Jaylen Barford and Yante Maten. Of the six Kentucky players who declared early for the draft, only Wenyen Gabriel did not receive an invite.
One notable pick who will not attend the combine is Texas A&M's Robert Williams. Many expect Williams to be a lottery pick, and he would thus have little to gain from attending the event. Deandre Ayton and Luka Doncic, the No. 1 and No. 2 prospects in the draft will also not be attending the event, though Doncic's European season is still taking place.
There were also a number of players who declared for the draft who did not get combine invites, like Tyler Davis of Texas A&M and Bryce Brown of Auburn. Without a combine invite, it will be more difficult to get noticed by NBA teams, and thus makes going back to school a more realistic option.
In total, 12 SEC players received an invite to the combine. You can see the full list below, as well as a 2018 NBA mock draft. The combine will take place in Chicago beginning on May 16. The NBA draft lottery will be held on May 15. The 2018 NBA Draft will take place on June 21.
