Sports Notebook: Two in the NFL? - Inside NoVA (blog)

Two football players who played high school ball and were standouts in Arlington were NFL draft choices in recent days.

Both were 2014 graduates of Arlington schools. M.J. Stewart graduated from Yorktown and Kamrin Brown from Bishop O'Connell.

Both were chosen as defensive backs in the draft, Stewart by Tampa Bay in the second round and Moore by New Orleans in the sixth. In high school, they played and were standouts on both sides of the ball, as well as special teams.

In pro ball, both have a very good chance to make their teams and play on defense and special teams.

What's interesting and neat, is both could be on the same field at the same time on Sept. 9. That's when New Orleans hosts Tampa Bay in the season opener for both teams.

Two players from Arlington schools in the same NFL game. That would be way cool.

We'll see what happens.
